Chiropractic

Chiropractic neurologists are highly trained and qualified experts of the brain, spine and nervous system who offer effective treatment options that do not involve the use of medications or surgery, filling a unique and significant role in treating brain and nervous system disorders using safe and effective methods, producing lasting health benefits.

Chiropractic neurologists use a form of care called functional neurology, which is a specialty area in healthcare that focuses on the health and performance of the brain and nervous system and how they interact with the body. Functional neurologists check to see if the nervous system is not working in the following areas: abnormal sensations, abnormal motor functions, abnormal thoughts, or abnormal posture. The brain controls every function in your body and your body provides feedback to the brain. If the communication between your brain and your body breaks down, so, too, can your health.

Chiropractic neurology treatment methods are safe, effective and can include a wide variety of tools such as:
▪ Chiropractic adjustments by hand or by instrument to the spine and/or extremities
▪ Cognitive exercises and activities
▪ Physical exercises
▪ Balance and coordination activities
▪ Breathing exercises
▪ Eye exercises
▪ Sensory training that may include light, sound, smell, or touch
▪ Nutritional modification
▪ Others as needed…

Digital Motion Study X-Ray

Most pain is experienced when in motion right? So doesn’t it make sense to take an x-ray while in motion to be able to determine where the root of the problem is? With an advanced outlook on how the body works, we provide each of our patients with unique Motion Study x-rays, or x-rays that are taken while in motion that are able to pinpoint hidden areas of injury not able to be seen on static x-rays.

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression is a safe and alternative treatment designed to help relieve back, neck, or referral pain such as sciatica. It is a safe and effective treatment for pain without the risks associated with surgery, anesthesia, infection, injections, or prescription medication.

Simply described, this method of treatment uses a therapeutic table that is connected to a computer, to electronically stretch and decompress your spinal structures. You rest on the table while a padded harness focuses the gentle force along your spinal column. This decompresses your spine – specifically the intervertebral discs and joints and stretched your spinal muscles – the three structures that produce most of your pain.

Clinical studies report that a high percentage of patients show significant reduction or elimination of pain with non-surgical spinal decompression therapy. Thousands of people across the country are enjoying the benefits of Spinal Decompression Therapy. Schedule an appointment with us to learn if you are a candidate for this treatment method.

Cervical Traction

Cervical traction combined with chiropractic adjustments decreases chronic neck pain intensity and improve the cervical curve, as well as reduces forward head posture.

In traction, tension is placed on the head to pull it up and away from the neck, stretching the muscles and ligaments around the vertebrae of the spine and expanding the space between the vertebrae. The goal is to provide the opportunity for muscles to relax and pinched nerves to be released.

Neuromuscular Reeducation

Neuromuscular reeducation deals with retraining the brain and spinal cord in voluntary and reflex motor activities. Physiological principles of both the muscular system and the nervous system are utilized, but more particularly the latter; strictly speaking, the term muscle reeducation is a misnomer, for only the nervous system is capable of being educated.

Eyelights for Therapy

Eyelights for TherapyEyelights target the weaker functioning side of the brain via the non-dominant eye. Light stimulation directly to the non-dominant brain causes an excitatory barrage to travel to the mesencephalon, the most metabolic area of the brain, where an increase in cellular activity takes place. The excitatory barrage travels also to the parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes of the brain, while collateral fibers lead to the pineal gland, pituitary gland, and hypothalamus.

Both sides of the brain are being affected, but emphasis is placed on the non-dominant system where dysfunction usually first occurs. Stimulation of the non-dominant eye will affect the opposite hemisphere of the brain via the thalamus. When stimulating the right eye, the left side or analytical portion of the brain will be affected greater. When stimulating the left eye, the right side or creative portion of the brain will be affected.

Eyelights offer a choice of settings for either the right or left eye, but the NON-DOMINANT EYE ALWAYS GETS THE THERAPY. The lights flash in a monocular pattern with both the top and bottom rows flashing at the same time. However, one row will always flash brighter than the other. When the upper row of lights is flashing brighter, it will affect the temporal lobe (mentality/emotionality) of the brain and parvo cells of the thalamus greater. When the bottom row of lights is flashing brighter, it will affect the parietal lobe (sensory/motor) and magno cells of the thalamus greater.
